Our Background

Buzzy Bees Pet Spa may be a new name, but the experience, passion and standards behind it have been built over 27 years.

Founded by Shannon Forsberg, Buzzy Bees brings together decades of professional experience in dog and cat grooming, grooming education, dog training, boarding, daycare, rescue work and pet-salon ownership. Shannon's career has taken her through nearly every type of pet-care environment—from high-end grooming salons and multi-location businesses to boarding, daycare, training and rescue settings.

From Lilly Bees to Buzzy Bees

Before Buzzy Bees, Shannon founded Lilly Bees Pet Spa, which grew from its original Rogers location to three locations serving Rogers, Elk River and Big Lake.

Lilly Bees ultimately served more than 10,000 clients, with much of its growth coming through word of mouth. Clients recommended the salons because of the quality of the grooming, the relationships built with customers and, most importantly, the way their pets were treated and loved.

The business received multiple grooming recognitions, including Readers' Choice, Best Grooming in Plymouth, and neighborhood recognition for pet grooming. Shannon's cat grooming also earned recognition among Twin Cities groomers.

Experience Beyond the Grooming Table

Shannon's background also includes dog training, grooming instruction, boarding, daycare, fostering, rescue work and helping animals find new homes. Her experience has included work with rescue and animal-welfare organizations as well as privately owned pet-care businesses.

She also earned a Bachelor's degree in Echocardiography from St. Catherine University. While her healthcare education is separate from veterinary medicine, it contributes to the safety-conscious, observant and detail-oriented approach she brings to caring for pets.

At Buzzy Bees, we're building a company around the things that made Shannon's previous businesses successful: quality work, knowledgeable grooming, honest customer relationships and genuine love for animals.

Even as Buzzy Bees grows, we want to preserve the personal experience of a neighborhood salon. That means one-on-one, straight-through grooming, kennel-free care whenever possible, individualized attention and taking the time to get to know both you and your pet.

And because a spa day should end on a happy note, our grooming guests receive the Buzzy Bees finishing touches—from handmade bows, bowties, bandanas and seasonal adornments to a special frozen yogurt reward from our Ice Cream Paw-Lour.

Buzzy Bees has big plans for the future—but bigger will never mean less personal.

Our goal is to grow while maintaining the relationships, quality and individual care that built our reputation in the first place. We plan to stay at a steady but manageable pace to keep the dogs and clients low stress.
